After the Fall by Carissa Lusk Review

***Book provided for an honest review

Well, where shall I start with this review?

IT WAS AWESOME?

Yeah that sounds about right. Here is the synopsis:

Amity cries out into the darkness that surrounds her, hoping for a solitary voice to provide direction; she hears two.

Amity knows she loves Alexander, yet the loneliness brought on by the miles that separate them can only be curbed by the cryptic affection of Marcus Riley. She can’t understand the strange familiarity she finds in the wild blue of Marcus’s eyes, but she will soon learn his secret.

Plagued with dreams and memories of lives beyond her own, a tragic fate will emerge from the ashes of a love scorned. Eventually, she will discover the dark truth that will leave her running for her life, and she will learn who sacrificed everything to save it.

I mean doesn’t that sound awesome? I believe it does and that is why I need to tell all of you what I thought about it.

To be honest with you, when I first started to read this book I was a little reluctant because from the beginning it sounded weird, how Amity was described and how this guy Marcus was just all of the sudden in the picture. The way she was always sort of sad and detached from everything made me question my decision of actually reading this book, and then the weird flashbacks. I was so very confused for like the first ten chapters.

But then, oh then, this guy Marcus starts to like pursue Amity and saying all this nice things like “Please love me. Love me,” in poems he claims he wrote for Amity and that just made me have all the feels every single time.

Then they have this little relationship even though she has a boyfriend. She never actually cheated on him, but she obviously has feelings for Marcus even though she loves Alexander her actual boyfriend. I know it sounds confusing, but let me explain. She has this adorable and awesome boyfriend that graduated from the college she is at and went to law school.

But they decided to do the whole long distance thing not only because they love each other so much but because they see each other every weekend so it’s not as bad. While Alex is away she has to keep going to class and all that and one day out of nowhere this guy Marcus defends her poem from a mean girl in Amity’s creative writing class, and then everything begins.

Marcus just can’t seem to leave Amity alone and she finds it hard to resist him. I totally get it her boyfriend is away and then there is this guy that says all the right things and makes her feel all warm and tingly inside with just a few words I mean how can she stay away? I will contempt her though because she was sort of playing with both.

But Marcus even said, “I’m not asking you to date me, and I won’t kiss you again. Just be near me. Get to know me. Agree to that, Amity, that’s all I’m asking.” The guy knew she had a boyfriend but still wanted her. Even if she loved her boyfriend to the moon and back that it’s just flattering and a little perfect.

But well if I sat down and just wrote all the things I loved about this novel I will probably never end and I would spoil it for you, since I don’t want to do that I will just say, READ this book. You will not regret it, I promise you, the plot twist at the end, the way it explains the love triangle, I mean just the way it was written all together was great. Wonderful book, everybody should give it a chance.

Edit by me

I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars just because it went a little on the cheating side and I’m not forth that, but it was so sweet and so… ugh I don’t know how to explain it, it wasn’t cheating at all. It’s just hard to explain, you guys just have to read it and tell me what you think of that “two guys” situation because it’s hard to wrap my head around it and not hate it but I didn’t hate it in this one if you know what I mean. Anyway, go read it.

You will not regret it.
